Petanque's
popularity keeps rising in our
country. But players are
scattered over the 50 states
and do not have many opportunities to meet, mingle and play. Last year, 256 players came from 22 states plus 11 countries and had a marvelous time. Lots of new friendships were made. High fives and laughter went on from morning till night. It certainly helps that the Fernandina Harbor marina is a beautiful setting, with plenty restaurants & bars in walking distance, and lots of breeze and sunshine. Not unlike La Ciotat on the French Mediterranean coast, where petanque started in 1907. |
